My Wednesday, September 11th Political Misfits discussion with John Kiriakou and Michelle Witte on Trump-Harris debate and repercussions, and Andrew Cuomo’s Congressional interrogation re his Covid nursing home policy.
For the fun of it: The remark I cited from a woman who was the hostess at the Edwardian Room: It was about Mario, not Andrew:
Hey Jim. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I used to seat Mario Cuomo at Trump's table in The Edwardian Room at the Plaza Hotel. This was back in '95. He was, by far, the rudest person I ever dealt with. Always a nuisance to me.
Their blurb:
Jim Kavanagh discusses last night’s presidential debate, including who won and who lost, whether listeners learned anything more about the candidates’ positions and plans for voters’ top issues, and whether either candidate will walk away from the event with more votes. He also discusses former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s appearance before Congress to defend his policies during the Covid-19 pandemic

I think this guy's video could counter some of the takeaway for Harris that you guys discussed. I believe this guy is intuitively correct and that a significant "unpolled" part of the populace sees through the glossy, fake PR of the Harris campaign. And it seems this includes more and more younger people AND blacks and other minorities. In California, Gloria Romero, a career establishment political bellwether for Hispanics in the state, just quit the Democrat party and I believe registered Republican. That signifies something significant.

Thanks for that. I liked DeVory. Glenn Greenwald also did a nice takedown of the moderators https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7jrWYm1Jh8
I could have put more emphasis on that point.
I don't know how much the debate will affect the vote. Barring anything crazy (and crazy is possible) Trump is going to do better among blacks, hispanics ,et. al. (as he did better in 2020 than in 2016). But solely in terms of the debate "performance" (and that's what it was), the net immediate benefit was to Kamala. Even most Trump surrogates admit it.
