I've been waiting for your essay on this, Jim, and it's excellent as usual. It's crazy--no one at work outside of my supervisor has said a word about this! My phone is malfunctioning, and I can't get group texts from my family (for over a year now), but I'm willing to bet more than a few of them are all in with the lunatics who run Israel. I hold out some hope, though: what is going to happen when all those black and Muslim and working class people in our military are exposed to the insanely racist bastards who run the Israeli military? Did not Netanyahu's wife insult Obama with the "n-word?" Are Muslim soldiers going to be left out of deployment? Our military can't afford to leave out anybody. And, those Israeli conscripts, most of whom are working-class, are going to be thrown into the meat-grinder in Norther Gaza, up against battle-hardened Palestinian fighters (definitely not terrorists) who are quite willing to die for the freedom of their people. They have no choice. There is already word that many conscripts refuse to serve, and will not go to the killing zone. What then? Hamas will win the fight in the end. However, today I read that 28 Israeli settlements have been evacuated near the Lebanese border. Does that mean Israel is getting ready with the nukes? Or is it simply that they can't defend them, and are removing them from harm's way? In great fear I believe you're right about what Israel will do when they inevitably start losing (they're losing now). Maybe something will happen vis a vis the above scenarios I mentioned, or perhaps some internal political events in Israel will change things. It certainly won't happen here. No one knows, and no one seems to care, and worldwide NOBODY up to this point gave a damn (the leadership of countries I mean) about the Palestinians.

Thanks, TIm. It is terribly depressing. The Israelis and a definite faction in the US wants war on Iran. Surprisingly, it appears there's a faction in the US warning against it. and slowing things down. But I don't see how Israel can resist obliterating and trying to conrol or grab Gaza, and I don't see how Hezbollah and thus Iran can sit and watch. US is sending an armed force fot the fight with Iran. Another undelcared war for a country we have no defense treaty with. But I don't think they are prepared for what they're getting into. It's iran that israel will use nukes against. Gaza and Leganon are too close. Aslo big shortfall in US armed forces recruitment (Army and Air Force -10,000 each, Navy -6000). May need a draft. I don't see how we come out of this without a lot of blood shed.
