Bummer.
Sputnik Radio has ceased its American operations. As I’ve heard it, U.S. sanctions made it impossible to do the necessary financial transfers. This means the great talk shows on which I’ve been so honored to be a frequent guest are no more.
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. Wilmer Leon and Garland Nixon, who usually had me on The Critical Hour twice a week. Our discussions were passionate and fun (especially the Friday panel discussions with Steve Poikonen), and I’m thrilled to have found these two new comrades, whom I also consider friends.
I also thank John Kiriakou and Michelle Witte, who welcomed me on Political Misfits frequently. I’ve been talking with John since the Loud & Clear days, and he and Michelle ran a great show and gave me plenty of air time to rattle on. Again, I found our discussions informative and fun.
This is not only a loss for me, it’s a loss for the audience. I know these shows were valuable to listeners because many of my subscribers came from them. They featured a host of brilliant guests in the rotation, giving American listeners the opportunity to hear—while driving in the car—viewpoints and analyses that are completely shut out of mainstream media. Neither Margaret Kimberly, Caleb Maupin, Misty Winston, nor I are going to be invited on MSNBC.
But we are not going to shut up, either. This is another moment in the aggressive elite campaign to close the Overtton window and control the narrative—a campaign that’s necessary because they are losing the argument, and are therefore desperate to shut down the conversation. Ain’t gonna happen. We’ll all be finding new ways to have our voices heard.
Truth to tell, it was always strange and precarious to depend on Russia for a platform. We have to make sure we keep all others open and develop new ones. It’s going to be a fight.
So, with sadness, anger, and determination, we say goodbye to Sputnik.
Here’s the farewell episode of The Critical Hour:

I was so disappointed today to hear the last of my daily dose of sanity. Of all the voices I've enjoyed on many of the shows over Sputnik radio, you are the only one to acknowledge what a loss it is to us, the listeners. It was so easy to hear you all in one place. I found balance and perspectives that will be more challenging to find, though I know you will all find other outlets. It will just be harder to find all of you. Thanks for many hours of insights and views that help make sense of our world.
Thanks,Jim, for closing it up. I appreciate all of you. Garland, leon, Steve, John, Michelle, you and all the brilliant people. You are all so knowledgeable and insightful.
I have a feeling everyone will end up popping up on existing (Substack) and new platforms, so it's just goodbye for now. <3
